ABOUT VMAI

The Veterinary Management Association of Indiana is a non-profit organization that exists to unite and support the veterinary management community of Central Indiana. The VMAI will work to provide educational opportunities for its members and their practices. The Association is dedicated to opening lines of communication and enhancing the public image of the veterinary profession.

Meetings:

Our meetings are held monthly. Unless there is a holiday conflict, we meet the last Tuesday of each month for lunch. Food is available, but not provided by VMAI. Meetings alternate between a formal speaker, or presentation and roundtable discussions where participants are asked to share material and/or ideas.

Founders:

The VMAI started as an informal get-together organized by Brenda Tassava, CVPM, and Hospital Administrator for the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic in 2004. A strong group of core members who met for more than a year decided that we could do so much more as a formal organization.

Charter board members include Amy Birk of the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic; Michele Fox of The Cat Doctor; Joe Huber, MBA of Indiana Veterinary Emergency Center; Kathy Massari of Georgetown Animal Hospital; Sallie Mayer of Circle City Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital ; Pam Messer of Carter Veterinary Medical Center; Glenn Shay of Castleton Pet Clinic; and Brenda Tassava, CVPM of the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic.

This group of dedicated volunteers worked together to incorporate as a non-profit organization and reach out to the Veterinary Practice Managers and Administrators in the area.
